The guest for this episode is Theresa Thorn, co-host of the parenting humor podcast One Bad Mother and the co-author of You’re Doing a Great Job! 100 Ways You’re Winning at Parenting. Along with illustrations by Noah Grigni, Theresa also wrote her first book for children, It Feels Good to Be Yourself: A Book About Gender Identity, a straightforward exploration of gender identity to give children a fuller understanding of themselves and others.

As I detailed in my recent essay about discovering my own identity (LINK), Theresa’s recent appearance on Alison Rosen’s podcast telling her own journey with her transgender daughter that inspired her to write this book also was that final piece of the puzzle I needed to understand myself. During this episode, we talk about her book, her podcast, gender identity, and about how she helped me figure out my own identity.
