Fresh is the Word Mini-Review: Rapsody – ‘Eve’ (Jamla Records)
The new album Eve from North Carolina-based hip hop artist Rapsody is exactly what hip-hop needs right now. Rapsody is incredible on the mic and with each song titled after a historic woman, it feels like it has an unapologetic purpose: to show the strength of the black woman. It doesn’t fall into any stereotypes. Eve is an entertaining album with substance. It’s shows that Rapsody shouldn’t be revered as one of the best woman in hip-hop, but one of the best lyricists, period. When you talk all the J. Cole and Kendrick talk, put some respect on Rapsody’s name too.
